Verse 1
تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ
Transliteration tabbat yadā abī lahabin watabba
French Que périssent les mains d’Abu Lahab, et qu’il périsse lui-même !
Verse 2
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ
Transliteration mā aghnā ʿanhu māluhu wamā kasaba
French À rien ne lui serviront ses richesses ni tout ce qu’il a acquis !
Verse 3
سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ
Transliteration sayaṣlā nāran dhāta lahabin
French Il brûlera dans un Feu aux flammes incandescentes,
Verse 4
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ
Transliteration wa-im'ra-atuhu ḥammālata l-ḥaṭabi
French ainsi que sa femme, porteuse de bois mort,
Verse 5
فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ
Transliteration fī jīdihā ḥablun min masadin
French et portant au cou une corde de fibres tressées!
