Do I need to know Arabic to start?
No. The course starts from the alphabet, with recorded pronunciation for every letter and English meaning for every word and verse.
Is MyDugsi free?
Yes. The whole course is free, and nothing is locked: letters, numerals, surah names, words, verses and the mastery test.
How long does it take to learn to keep the Qur’an?
It depends on your own pace. There is no deadline: you move on when each step is solid, and short daily practice gets you there fastest.
Can I learn the Qur’an word by word?
Yes. Every verse is shown word by word with Arabic, transliteration, English meaning and recitation for each word.
Which translation do you use?
Saheeh International by default. In Settings → Translation you can choose from 125 translations in 66 languages.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. In the app, save the surahs you are learning in Settings → Downloads and they play offline. In a browser, MyDugsi keeps the app, the Foundations and your chosen translation for offline use by itself, and recitation once you have played it.
Is there a phone app?
Yes. Get MyDugsi on the App Store and Google Play.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings and choose Delete account at the bottom. If you can’t log in, email support@mydugsi.org from your account’s address and we’ll delete it within 7 days. Full details are on the Delete account page (mydugsi.org/delete-account). Full details are on the Delete your data page.
How do I stop seeing someone?
Tap Block on any of their posts or replies, or on the Challenge screen. You won’t see them again or be matched with them. Unblock them any time in Settings → Blocked people.
